Ethique: Our Story and Mission

Brianne West, the CEO and founder of Ethique, started the company in her kitchen in 2012 when she began experimenting with solid shampoo bars. Today, Ethique boasts a product range of over 100 items.

At Ethique, we create conscious and concentrated haircare, skincare, body care, and more, all designed to make giving up the bottle easier. All our products are 100% plastic-free, certified vegan, cruelty-free, and palm-oil free. Our packaging is also 100% plastic-free.

Ethique's Mission

Our mission is to revolutionize the cosmetics industry and regenerate our planet through business. Helping to rid the world of single-use plastic bottles is just one part of that.

Regeneration

As of 2021, we have saved over 20 million single-use plastic bottles from being made or disposed of in landfills around the world. We have also saved over 3 million gallons of water from being wasted and have planted over 350,000 trees. This is only the beginning!

Compact by Design

We created the Compact by Design initiative to identify products that, while they may not always look very different, have a more efficient design. With the removal of excess air and water, products require less packaging and become more efficient to ship. At scale, these small differences in product size and weight lead to significant carbon emission reductions.

A powerful blend of neem and karanja oils, renowned for their healing properties in Ayurvedic medicine, soothing oatmeal to calm dry scalps, cocoa butter, and coconut oil, all provide softness and shine to your hair.

Save Money & the Planet

Each shampoo bar lasts at least 80 washes, equivalent to three bottles of liquid shampoo. To use, simply stroke the bar down wet hair – it will lather!

Plastic-Free & Ethically Sourced

This bar has recyclable, home-compostable packaging. Simply tear up the box and pop it in your compost bin or bury it in your garden to return nutrients to the soil. The ingredients are also vegan, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, paraben-free, and sourced from sustainable producers paid a fair wage.
